Harmony Ultimate Remote Control

Last year we updated out home entertainment system and with the new equipment came a raft of remote controls. Obviously, we needed a solution to the half dozen remotes which we could never find and I initially purchased an all-in-one product which quite frankly didn't do what we needed.
After further research I stumbled across the Ultimate Harmony remote control from Logitech. Looked like it ticked all the boxes but then seeing the price it needed to and more. My wife was not convinced about the remote especially considering the price but I went ahead and made the purchase despite her reservations (and hoped that it lived up to the hype).
On arrival I eagerly unpacked it from the box and commenced the set-up. To say this was easy is an understatement. Easy to connect to my wi-fi network and then set-up all of the relevant devices. It comes with an online configuration tool (recently updated to an application you can download) which uses silverlight which did have some issues on Chrome but switching to Safari quickly overcame this issue.
Within an hour we were up and runnning and by the end of that day my wife was loving the remote. We downloaded the apps for iOS and Android which effectively turns your smartphone into a personalised remote. This initially was easy to set up but since then we have had intermittent success with getting the apps to work.
Build quality is really good and the touch LCD screen is bright and clear togther with being very responsive. Easy to set up icons with your favourite programmes and change the order to make 'surfing' quick and easy.
Pro's
Great looking product
Easy to set-up
Simple and user-friendly interface
Con's
Some browser issues with online configuration tool
Apps for iOS/Android dont work that well
No PS4 support (yet!)
Overall, the Harmony Ultimate has been a great purchase and I have no regrets. It is expensive but it has been very reliable and has solved the solution of replacing all our remotes down into one.
